Stories of Change
These are real stories from real people — lives transformed through determination, community support, and the programs of Lokpath Charitable Trust.
Surendra Kushwaha — From Graduate to Organic Farmer

Program: Nature & Agriculture
Surendra Kushwaha, a BA graduate from Mahoba, was struggling to make farming profitable using conventional methods that required high input costs. Through Lokpath’s zero-budget natural farming training, he discovered a better way.
After adopting organic farming techniques, Surendra:
- Reduced input costs by 20% by eliminating chemical fertilizers and pesticides
- Increased crop yields by 40% through improved soil health and natural inputs
- Boosted annual income from ₹60,000 to ₹1,00,000 — a 67% increase
Surendra now serves as a resource person in his village, training other farmers in natural farming methods and demonstrating that sustainable agriculture is both ecologically sound and economically rewarding.
“When I first heard about zero-budget farming, I was skeptical. But after trying it on one acre, the results were clear. Now my whole farm is organic and my family has a better life.”
Devkunwar — Laborer to Entrepreneur

Program: Entrepreneurship Development
Devkunwar was a daily laborer with no steady income, dependent on seasonal agricultural work. After participating in Lokpath’s entrepreneurship training, she took a bold step toward financial independence.
Step 1: Grocery Store Devkunwar established a small grocery store in her village, generating a stable income of ₹3,000–4,000 per month — more than she had ever earned as a laborer.
Step 2: Organic Farming Encouraged by her initial success, she expanded into organic farming using techniques learned through Lokpath’s agriculture programs. Today her farming enterprise generates ₹30,000–40,000 per month.
Her journey from daily laborer to successful entrepreneur demonstrates what is possible when people get the right training, mentorship, and encouragement.
“I never thought I could run a business. Lokpath helped me believe in myself and showed me the path to a better future for my children.”
Kajal Rajput — Back to School, Back to Her Dreams

Program: Adolescent Empowerment Project
Kajal was a teenage girl who had dropped out of school due to a combination of family pressure, lack of confidence, and limited support. When Lokpath’s field team found her, she had been out of school for over a year.
Through the Azadi Kishori Manch group in her village, Kajal:
- Found a community of supportive peers and mentors
- Participated in life skills and leadership sessions that rebuilt her confidence
- Received individual counseling and support from Lokpath’s education team
- Was successfully re-enrolled in formal education
Today, Kajal has been admitted to Class 11 and has aspirations for higher education. She is now an active member of her AKM group and helps encourage other girls who have faced similar challenges.
“The girls in my Azadi Kishori group showed me that my dreams were worth fighting for. Now I go to school every day and I want to go to college.”
Namrata — A Leader Rising
Program: Adolescent Empowerment Project
Namrata is the leader of the Ichhapurti Azadi Kishori Group, one of the most active groups in Lokpath’s program. She is pursuing her dream of working in social welfare while making an immediate impact in her community.
As group leader, Namrata has:
- Helped 6 girls from her group gain admission to higher education
- Conducted community surveys on health and education in her village
- Advocated for girls’ rights with village leaders and local government
- Served as a mentor and role model for younger girls in the group
Namrata’s ambition is to study social work and return to serve communities like the one she grew up in.
“I want to become what Lokpath has been for me — a path forward for others.”
